The Date

The Date is a sexual violence prevention program run every year for incoming students.

It is an important part of promoting a safer community on campus. Written, performed and directed by WashU students, the live performance has been part of new student orientation since 2001, and this endeavor is our largest prevention education program.

Student volunteers go through training to facilitate the discussions following The Date, which include conversations about sex and consent, bystander intervention and sexual assault on campus. The facilitation process is coordinated by the student organization Leaders in Interpersonal Violence Education (LIVE).

If you are interested in being a facilitator for The Date, contact LIVE.
